Kathy Chester is a licensed, bondable private fiduciary with Professional Fiduciary Services (PFS).

PFS is a group of independent fiduciaries who work together providing services such as Trustee or Successor Trustee in Living Trusts, Personal Representative in Wills, Agents for the Advanced Health Care Directive and the Durable Power of Attorney for Assets. We manage family expectations, equities, bonds, businesses, real estate and person property.

She is an associate member of the Professional Fiduciary Association of California (PFAC), the OC Bar Elder Law, Trusts & Estates and Taxation Sections, a member of the Planned Giving Round Table of Orange County and the American Institute of CPA’s.

Kathy was named power of attorney for her parents when they started needing help managing their assets. She discovered two stockbrokers and an insurance agent who started processing transactions which were no longer in the best interests of her parents but did generate healthy commissions for themselves which she immediately put a stop to. This has given Kathy a passion for protecting other seniors from financial abuse as well as other forms of elder abuse. She subsequently passed the exams to be licensed as a professional fiduciary in the state of California and a certified guardian in 2009.

Kathy has a BS in Accounting and an MBA from Kansas State University.

Kathy’s experience in the financial world comes from 12 years as a licensed CPA practicing in both Public Accounting and Private Corporate Accounting in managerial positions, 8 years as an accounting manager in banking, 6 years as Assistant Vice President managing the accounting department in insurance services, and 2 years in the real estate software industry.

Kathy’s experience includes serving as an expert accounting witness before State and Federal Utility Commissions, directing the preparation of Annual Reports to Stockholders, SEC filings, corporate income tax returns, corporate budgets and forecasts, managed a $90 million investment portfolio and a $748 million loan portfolio for banks, accounted for $5 billion in loan securitizations and loan portfolio yield analyses. She was also responsible for managing multiple software conversions and setting up accounting policies and procedures. While at Safeco Financial Insurance Services, she operated in a fiduciary capacity managing 9 corporate client trust bank accounts with over $40 million in daily transactions by implemented on-line positive pay transmissions and daily reconciliations.

Kathy was born in Washington D.C. and has lived in Overland Park, Kansas and San Ramon, California. Kathy and her husband moved to Yorba Linda, Ca

lifornia in 1991 where they currently reside. Her husband manages corporate real estate and leases for JP Morgan Chase.

She is currently serving on the Board of the Alta Vista Women’s Golf Association and is a member of their competitive team. She has also competed in college gymnastics, women’s and coed softball, and women’s soccer. Kathy has enjoyed coaching soccer and gymnastics for her children’s teams in both Northern California and Southern California.
